DAILY BREAD → Bird Feeder

“Look at the birds of the air,” said Jesus of Nazareth. “They neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

These words are a reminder of divine care. Inspired by this, I transformed a sparrow’s song into form: capturing its soundwave and shaping it into a bird feeder. What was once heard now becomes a vessel of care—an offering of rest and nourishment for the very creatures the verse calls us to consider.

First, I researched sparrow songs and found a waveform whose silhouette could serve as the shape of the bird feeder.

Next, I created a 2D vector illustration of the soundwave.

The vector design was extruded and transformed into a detailed 3D model.

Then, a CNC router was used to precisely cut four wooden trays—designed to hold seed and provide perches for the birds.

The other waveforms were fabricated in plastic through 3D printing.

The waveforms were painted black, emphasing their silhouette.
