Every summer, the advertising industry partakes in a ritual of self-congratulation known as award show season. While awards themselves are not inherently problematic, the industry’s obsessive festishization of them—and the idolization of recognition for its own sake—warrants critique.

This work explores the fervor with which commercial creatives chase validation. It’s a reflection on vanity, on the hollow ecstasy of professional acclaim, and on the quiet question lingering beneath the applause: what (or who) exactly are we celebrating?
